Join the PTO!

Being involved with the PTO is a great way for parents to meet new people, get connected, and learn more about your child’s experience at school. It is also a great way to make a difference at Whit by helping us raise money for our children. We vote regularly as a PTO on what we fund, such as special school projects and classroom supplies.

Thanks to the generosity of our families, volunteers, sponsors, and community partners, the PTO has been able to support a wide variety of programs, classroom needs, and special events. In recent years, PTO funding has helped provide:

  • Extra food and supplies for the Whit Davis Black History Month Celebration

  • Decorations and supplies for the Whit Davis parade float in the Athens-Clarke County Christmas Parade

  • Baking classes to enhance Whit's After School Program

  • A special St. Patrick's Day celebration for students

  • Funding to support the school's Hispanic Heritage Celebration

  • An author visit to inspire and engage our students

  • Free dinner and childcare for every monthly PTO meeting, making it easier for families to participate

  • Family events such as the Fall Festival, school dances, Holiday Shop, Wildcat Walk, Chili Cook-Off & Bingo Night, and other community-building activities

  • Teacher requests, classroom materials, and other school needs throughout the year

Every dollar raised by the PTO stays at Whit Davis Elementary and directly benefits our students, teachers, and school community.

Of course, the first way to get involved with the PTO is to attend our meetings. We have meetings once a month. Check out our Calendar for our meeting & events schedule for the 2026-2027 school year!
